DANCE AUDITIONS

Dance - Kids (Ages 7 to 12) For those interested in the Nativity dance scenes or the Dancing Angels

Sunday, August 26 - participants sign up for group workshops that include an instruction time where they will learn a dance routine, after which they will audition with the learned dance routine. There are two sessions based on dance style. One is Musical Theater (includes Jazz, Broadway, and Swing styles), and the other is Lyrical (includes ballet styles). We encourage participants to sign up for both sessions so we can see the participant's dance range and skill. On the sign-up page, you can choose which session to attend at which time. Both sessions are offered on August 26, 2:15-3:30pm and 3:30-4:45pm.

Please have the children wear a t-shirt and pants that allow them to stretch and move easily and wear sneakers. Long hair must be pulled back off the neck and away from the face. Please bring bottled water, and a snack if they want one. They will be taught the audition routine at the audition time, so they do not need to prepare a dance routine to perform.

Dance - Teens and Adults (Ages 13 and older) For those interested in any dance scene

Saturday, August 25 - participants sign up for group workshops that include an instruction time where they will learn a dance routine, after which they will audition with the learned dance routine. There are three sessions based on dance style. One is Musical Theater (includes Jazz, Broadway, and Swing styles), the second is Lyrical (includes ballet styles), and and the third is Urban (includes hip-hop, step, drill, and freestyle). We encourage participants to sign up for all three sessions so we can see the participant's dance range and skill. On the sign-up page, you can choose which session to attend at which time. All three sessions are offered on August 25, 10:15-11:30am, 11:30am-12:45pm, and 12:45-2:00pm.

Please wear a t-shirt and pants that allow you to stretch and move easily and wear sneakers. Long hair must be pulled back off the neck and away from the face. Please bring bottled water, and a snack, especially if you are attending all three sessions. You will be taught the audition routine at the audition time, so you do not need to prepare a dance routine to perform.

NOTE: there will be callback auditions for dance on Monday, August 27, 6:00-9:00pm and Tuesday, August 28, 6:00-9:00pm. Please keep these times open in the event that you are asked to attend a Dance Callback.
